How Do Gas Credit Cards Work?

Are you familiar with cash back cards? If yes, then gas cards are similar to cash back cards. Whenever you purchase fuel using your gas card you get a rebate of some percentage that is offered by the credit card company that may be given to in cash or gift cards. The percentage that is being used depends on the credit card company from which you applied your gas card from.

But there are some credit card companies that use the point system. It works like this, for example you had to fuel up your car and you used your gas card so every time you use your gas card in fuelling you earn certain points. These points vary on how much you spend filling up your tank. To better understand how these gas credit card works, here are some examples on how gas credit card works according to the credit card company. Discover® Open Road (SM) Card, it gives you a 5% cash back bonus on refueling and other maintenance purchases that you do. So if you gas up $100 you can save up $5 every time you refuel your gas. Citi CasgReturns (SM) Card, will give you 20% bonus on the cash back that you have earned in all your purchases for the first 12 months that you have used it. Once you earn $50 a check will be sent directly to you.

No need to call them or them calling you the check will be sent automatically to you once you have reached $50. Chase PerfectCard™ MasterCard®, for the first 90 days it will offer you 6% rebate on all gas purchases at any gas station. After the 90 days time it will offer you the 3% rebates on all gas purchases at any gas station. The rebate on your card will be automatically be forwarded on your card for future purchases made on your card. Citi® Professional (SM) Cash Card, offer you a 3% cash back on fuel purchases. Blue Cash® for Business Credit Card, gives you 5% cash back on all purchases, has no limit on the cash back you can receive. The Chase Business Rebate Card, for every fuel purchase you get a 3% cash back on your credit card. Discover® Business Card this offers you 2% rebate on every purchase of fuel, it may be a small amount but if you sum it up later on it will accumulate to a big amount of money.

Discover® Open Road (SM) Card for Students, here, students can build their credit history plus they get 5% cash back on fuel services and other auto maintenance. Discover® Student Card - Clear, this gives the students 5% cash back plus it has an unlimited cash rewards that is given automatically. The cash back bonuses can be used by students when shopping online. Citi® Driver's Edge® Card for College Students, gives 3% cash back, rebate is given on any car be it new, old or used.
